Today's challenge question is pretty simple: What's your favorite outfit from the game and why?

Esthetically and from a purely utlitarian standpoint, I think I like the camo pants outfit best. But I also have a soft spot for the denim outfit. It's so different from everything Lara had worn in the past--or since--so it kind of stands out.
ReplyDeleteI kinda love the denim. It screams "secret agent Lara." The Paris levels are so much fun because she's on the run... I always had a soft spot for those levels where Lara is without her guns. That's why the burning village segment of the new game stood out a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteI like the denim mainly because it looks so badass!
ReplyDeleteThe wetsuit by far!! same in tomb raider 2!!
ReplyDeleteThe denim is my favourite, but the shorts come to a very close second.
ReplyDeleteCamo long pants are my favorite, followed by the denim! I always enjoyed playing in the unlockable camouflage outfit in Anniversary because it seemed to be influenced by the AoD version.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of immune to outfits but the denim ensemble gives the lie to the modern "theory" that Lara never wore "realistic clothes" before Tomb Raider 2013.
ReplyDeleteThe black top with shorts outfit. For me, it seems to be the original outift. She appears with that outfit on the cover, on the E3 trailers, in the beta gameplay of the game... I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe one I like the most is the wetsuit. It's an upgraded version from the TR2 one, and although it only appears during a small segment of the game, I find it very beautiful and practical to use!
ReplyDeleteI don’t have a favourite individual outfit but I love the way they work together. Lara starts the game in something completely new to TR and ends it in the familiar shorts ensemble; traditional Tomb Raider in reverse.
ReplyDeleteGood point! I never really thought about that.
DeleteCamo trousers. It's always refreshing to see her not baring all her flesh.
ReplyDeleteI like the Wet-Suit one, looks sexy and I'm a hetrosexual male, :)
ReplyDeleteThe camo trousers first, followed closely by the denim outfit. After I played the game I went out and bought a demin jacket and tied my hair up in a braid so I could secretly pretend I was Lara...
ReplyDeleteBlack top and Camo shorts, I love how as you play through Lara roles up her trousers into shorts for the more "dirty" raiding to do ;)
ReplyDeleteThe camo shorts with the sunglasses. It reminds me of 'Classic Lara'.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the denim. We'd seen variations of the other looks in previous games, but for the first time we see her in an outfit that you could reasonably expect to see on our own streets. It had an immediate "wow, this is new" effect. Incidentally, I'm a gay male, but I still find Lara sexy in anything ;)
ReplyDeleteThe shorts!
ReplyDeleteTOMB RAIDER 2013 SPOILER WARNING!!!
The most exciting bit of Tomb Raider 2013 is the very end, when she finally uses the twin pistols. Everything in the game has been leading up to the moment when she takes them both in hand.
The shorts in AoD had much the same effect for me. After the denim outfit, which as many of said is appealing precisely because it looks like nothing she's worn before, the return to a "classic" Lara outfit is actually really exciting. It feels like after everything she's been through, after all the things that feel so removed from Lara's past adventures, when the shorts come out, you know Lara Croft is back.
I've never seen many of those, and my favorite is the cameo trousers, just because it looks like what I would wear.
