It's official! We've all known for a while that a Tomb Raider sequel is in development, but today at E3 fans saw their first glimpse. Check out the launch trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider below and let me know what you think...and what you'll be doing to pass the time between now and Christmas 2015. ;)
Further details at tombraider.com.
Meanwhile, while we were all hyperventilating over the 'Rise' announcement, Crystal Dynamics placed the cherry on top of the Tomb Raider sundae with a brief reveal of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, a solo/4-player co-op Guardian of Light sequel coming soon to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

It's been quite a day for the fans, and I'm sure we're all looking forward to more details about both games in the coming days.
UPDATE: Later the same day - added links to updated official websites.
Great news! It totally made my day :) And omg what does Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris looks great, so so cool! I totally can't wait any longer to play it, even I'm aware of the fact I do only know of this game existence for a couple of hours :) Luckely it is stated it is ''Coming Soon'' so that's an excellent way to pass the time untill Christmas next year!
ReplyDeleteYeah yeah! It looks like it's pretty far along already, so maybe we'll see it by this Christmas. That'd be great!
DeleteIf I watch the Announcement video for TR:ROTR it almost looks like a film, the graphics seem to be better than in TR:2013 (espcially Lara's face and whole appearance) (I think it will be different in the actual game itself, just like TR:2013 because the intro sequence has made seperately from the game engine). But when we saw a bear in TR:2013? In a flashback we see Lara been hunted by a bear, but I can't remember where we've had one in that game??? (in TR:U we had some bears but I can't think of one in TR:2013, wolves yes, bears no :)
DeleteWell, you assume the cinematic for TR:ROTR was a flash back, but it wasn't. It's a flash forward actually! In the present Lara is visiting the psychiatrist, and while you hear his words, you see what is coming for Lara in the future. So some sort of frozen tomb (yay!) with mercenaries and bears in the vicinity :)
Deleteif there is a reason to move to the next-gen, for me, is that trailer! RISE!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm especially spyched about Temple of Osiris, but eventhough Tomb Raider 2013 was very painful to me, I also have hopes for Rise of the Tomb Raider. In any case, I can't wait for Temple of Osiris! :D
ReplyDeleteI'll pass the time hoping that the tr sequel changes it's title by the time it's released
ReplyDeleteIt is a little cheesy, but I kind of like the departure from "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Dramatic Thingy." A friend on Twitter suggested that this new series might feature "Dramatic Thingy of the Tomb Raider" instead. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
DeleteId like to point out that Osiris features the return of "Legend" lara, and does not feature the new lara.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. With Keeley Hawes doing the voice. I'll be posting a longer feature about the game probably this weekend. Wish they'd dropped these bombs on Friday instead of Monday. ;)
