Tomb Raider Trailer to Debut Next Week

The first video trailer for the new Tomb Raider game will air Thursday night on Spike TV, but fans may get a sneak preview if the Tomb Raider Facebook page can attract 100,000 fans.

The trailer, titled "Turning Point," will be shown as part of Spike's Game Trailers TV E3 coverage beginning at 10:00 p.m. PST June 2nd (7:00 a.m. GMT June 3). The video will then go live on the official game website, tombraider.com.

In an attempt to lure more fans to its Facebook page, Crystal Dynamics has promised a sneak preview of the trailer once the page hits 100,000 Likes.

  5. What I don't understand about the gear is that, if we're looking at a younger Lara, shouldn't it not be so modern? I mean, it looks like she has a very up to date phone/iPod. Is she a young Lara only pushed into the future? So, instead of being 30ish in 2011, she's 20ish?

  6. Anonymous, as I understand it, this is a complete reboot of the series. Lara starts over as a young woman in the 2010's. Then if the series continues--as we hope it will--she'll age to maturity all over again.

If we were to stick with the original Lara, who was supposedly born in 1968, she'd be 43 now. That doesn't bother me, being 45 myself, but I think the developers are trying to appeal to a younger audience and tell a whole new story.
