30-Day Tomb Raider Challenge Day 23: Have You Ever Dreamed About Tomb Raider?

Over the years, several players have told me their weird, fun and fabulous Tomb Raider dreams. Have you ever dreamed about Lara, or dreamed you were living a Tomb Raider game? Do tell!

Sleeping Angie? Would love to give a photo credit, but I'm not sure who took this. I found it in a Google image search.

  1. I don't tend to remember my dreams too often, but I've definitely had dreams with Lara (one time we were in a car arguing about the right directions to someplace!) and a few where I was treasure hunting and running from bad guys. Wish I could recall more details.

  2. I have only really dreamed about Lara once or twice. Like Stella, I find it hard to recall dreams. I once dreamt that Lara was my sister and she took me on loads of adventures. This dream is really nerdy, but once I dreamt that there was an extra secret in The Last Revelation. Yeah, weird dream. Great question! :)

  3. I had an awful dream! I was Lara Croft in Tomb Raider Anniversary and I was fighting the T-rex, but it was more in the heart of the jungle and he kept out running me so I jumped in some water. The water was a tunnel that came up like twenty feet away, so every time I came up the t rex was there and I tried back to the other side and the T rex was there again and I ended up drowned like 12 times. It was awful!

  4. I had some dreams back in a high school, but the most remembered one was the one where there were two bad guys (should be bosses) ganged up on Lara. One of them shot her stomach at a point-blank range with a shotgun, while I could just spectate from afar. She fell about a few feet down (from a balcony or platform, can't remember). Lay weak on the floor, Lara was still alive. The shooter jumped down & pulled her collar, while Lara can only grit her teeth & groan in wrath.

Unluckily, I woke up right after that. But doesn't mean I didn't continue sleeping, wished I could continue the dream, saved Lara & sung her Enrique Iglesias' "Hero", & live happily ever after ;-p

  5. I've never dreamed about Tomb Raider or Angie. Daydreamed, maybe when I'm writing fan fic. When I was little I used to have nightmares about being chased by a T Rex, but that predated Tomb Raider and was thanks to a really good radio version of The Lost World by Conan Doyle.

  6. I dreamt i was rebuilding Rome once. This could possibly mean I'm not that much of TR-fan anymore. Well, lets see how it goes in 2013.

  8. I've had many dreams where I've been exploring dangerous places or ancient ruins, and I attribute many of those to my love of Tomb Raider. However, I can only recall one instance where Lara herself actually showed up in a dream. I had the definite impression that she was my sister in that one, actually (weird, I know).

I don't remember the whole layout of the story in my dream, but Lara and I were exploring a ruin in a very strange, moonscape-like environment - a desert at night, I think. Anyway, we were in the ruin, and Lara was ahead of me. I saw the set-up and trigger for a spinning blade trap that would have cut us down at about stomach-level. She didn't see it; I pushed her out of the way and caught the trap in the gut myself. Woke up with a nasty stomach-ache because I'd legitimately come down with a stomach bug over the course of the night!

  9. I remember a dream I had once with Lara and Amanda. They were being nice to each other. And it was really weird. So used to that Underworld hatred. lol

  10. I've only had one dream that I WAS Lara Croft, I was looking for someplace to sleep in a cave that wasn't so creepy, haha.

  11. Sidebar - that photo is definitely not Angelina Jolie. Perhaps it was incorrectly tagged on google images.

  12. I was a little skeptical, Anonymous, but the more I look at it, the more I think you're right. Ah, well....
