30-Day Tomb Raider Challenge Day 21: Raiding on the Go

Have you played any of the hand-held or mobile Tomb Raider games? If so, which was your favorite and why? Marie and I want to know.

  1. I've played most of the mobile games. Couldn't get Underworld 3D on my phone or find an emulator that'll play it, and I have no interest in the puzzle/slot machine games, so no to them as well. I love the Game Boy Color games, though, and the TR Mobile trilogy (Osiris Codex, Quest for Cinnabar and Elixir of Life) are surprisingly fun. The Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS games are kinda crappy though, IMO.

  2. I got Lara Croft and the guardian of Light on my Ipod and it plays really well, its shorter, as in less levels, then the xbox version, but it was still very well done for a game on such a little thing

  3. I agree, I don't like Tomb Raider on the DS or the slot machines. They do have some slot machine apps that are related to Tomb Raider on the Android market that I have downloaded but are really bad. I do also have the GameBoy Colour games and the GameBoy Advance games that never get old! I really wish one day I had the money to buy an Apple product and play LCGOL on the iPod, (Or so I've heard).

  4. I have Underworld on DS which I didn't mind but it wasn't brilliant. I had a Gameboy Advance Tomb Raider but I can't remember the name. What I mainly use now is my PSP as I have Anniversary on it but more importantly I have Tomb Raider 1 - 5 on it. It's so great to be able to jump into Palace Midas wherever I am!

  6. I played Legend of DS, ehh. I loved this older TR game for gameboy color, it was a childhood favorite.

  7. I played something about a sword on the Gameboy Color. Never finished it though.

  8. I more or less 'cut my teeth' on the portable versions of Legend and Anniversary. Those are the first Tomb Raider games I played, and both were on PSP.

Both games are console ports, which is good and bad. Good, because you are getting the full version of each game. Bad, because the controls can be a little difficult at times. The motorcyle levels in Legend can be a chore, and it is nearly impossible to get the gold reward for the Kazakstan level.

Overall, I enjoyed both games quite a bit, although I must admit that I do like the console versions better.

  9. No, unfortunately, I haven't played any of the handheld Tomb Raider games. The gameboy color ones do look interesting, though.

  10. Only the PSP versions of Legend and Anniversary. If anyone is seeking a challenge the portable versions of those two games will absolutely break you. You will never unlock the exclusive outfits for Legend.

  11. I'd be open to give 'em a try, but I've only ever played the console games. I feel like the mobile ones would be weird, haha.
