30 Day Tomb Raider Challenge Day 10: Crossovers

Tomb Raider–Witchblade #1
by Michael Turner

In the comic book realm, Lara Croft has gone adventuring with Witchblade's Sara Pezzini, as well as Aspen and Cannon from Fathom. Characters from and Kane & Lynch and Legacy of Kain appeared in expansion packs for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. And naturally fan fiction writers, artists, and video-graphers have envisioned Lara in all sorts of imaginative pairings.

Would you like to see a crossover between Tomb Raider and another franchise in a major game? If so, which characters should be involved and what would be the premise?

Today's topic comes from Giorgos. Thanks, G!

  1. I'm generally not a big proponent of the crossover, since they often seem contrived, but I'd still love to hear any ideas you guys can dream up.

  2. I would love to see Lara Croft vs Indiana Jones. It would be funny to see them take the mick out of each other. I do really enjoy the Nathan Drake vs Lara Croft video but if they were to make a real game of it I'm not sure I would be that thrilled. They're better of on their own.

  3. How about a young American version of Lara Croft in an Uncharted clone?

  4. Lara is going after someone who stole her deadly artifact. Lara finally chases down the theif. Strangely however there is another person after the this theif, someone hired to kill the theif, someone by the name Bond... James Bond. MI6, knew that this "theif" had the artifact and sent James after him . Haha. If that makes any sense. :) I mean it's utterly ridiculous, but to answer the question in some random way.

  5. the obvious one is nathan drake. He and Lara
are after the same artifact and when their
paths cross, they realize that they have to team
up due to impossible circumstances beyond their
control. For if they do not, mankind will be forever changed. Unforseen by either, though, is that only one will survive in the end. Or something like that...

  6. All of the games I typically play would be really weird for a Lara crossover. Although, a TR version of Left4Dead would be pretty awesome, haha.

  7. How about Lara and The Prince of Persia? You'd need some kind of weird time-travel thing, but I think Lara could match the Prince move-for-move.

  8. Although crossovers could be funny, more than anything else, I just want more really good normal Tomb Raider games. So no, no crossovers please, just focus on creating memorable, challenging, and versatile Tomb Raider games, with lots of exploration possibilities, mind-boggling puzzles, nasty traps, tricky vehicles, and a captivating presentation. Simple as that! ;) Oh, and I really don't care for combat.

  9. Like Stella, I'm not a great fan of crossovers and for the same reason - they are contrived and the modifications to get them to 'fit together' are likely to be obvious or even intrusive.

The only one I can think of which I might enjoy would be with Faith of Mirror's Edge. The environment of ME was once described by a critic as one of the most memorable in gaming.

  10. HATE CROSSOVERS. i think they are rubbish and if they did anymore crossovers i would have no interest in them. it just doesnt seem right. putting lara croft being special in herself with other random characters. it doesnt work im sorry to say.

  11. I'd go with Nathan Drake from Uncharted. They start off as enemies but an intense plot twist forces them to team up and save the day in epic fashion

  12. Some series crossovers work and I can see it, I think the Alien/Predator crossovers were good but I can't see a TR crossover unless with Indiana Jones but even that doesn't work in my mind :)

  13. I can only think of one crossover I'd like to see, and that would be a team-up between Lara and Pitfall Harry.

  14. No, I don't like crossovers. They always seem slightly unrealistic, ad I like Tomb Raider to be it's own universe.

  15. I don't really like crossovers, I like to see Tomb Raider in its own universe, but since Lara has that hood in the Rise trailer, maybe a Tomb Raider/Assassins creed cold be fun.
