December 9 Release Date Set for Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

Yesterday Crystal Dynamics announced that Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, the sequel to the acclaimed arcade adventure Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, will be released December 9, just in time for the holidays.

Executive Producer Scott Amos has been previewing the game for journalists since it was announced at E3 last month. He sat down with IGN's Greg Miller, Naomi Kyle, and Daemon Hatfield to try out the 4-player co-op mode, which you can see in the video below.

The game will be available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. According to Amos, both online and local co-op for 2, 3, or 4 players will be included at launch. Guardian of Light players may recall that game originally released with only the single-player mode; co-op was added in a later patch.

  1. Awesome! At least we can be sure that 1 of the 2 upcoming Tomb Raider games is gonna be a lot of fun! :)

    1. I'm excited for both games, but I know what you mean. I loved Guardian of Light so much, and I was just thrilled to hear about the sequel. The gameplay looks like so much fun! I can't wait to try it. :D

  2. Yeah, I loved Guardian of Light too! I'm also hoping very much for Rise of the Tomb Raider to turn out to be a fantastic adventure. But, since what I've seen of Tomb Raider 2013, I'm remaining cautious for the moment. Here is hoping we'll see some gameplay soon. :)

    1. Same here! There are many things I loved about TR 2013, but I really hope Rise will focus more on the Tomb Raiding aspects. Releasing Temple of Osiris between the two "big" games seems like a great plan on Crystal's part. I know a lot of players are looking forward to it.
